AOTW: Body High

So just slow down for me.

tuneski has been making music for quite some time. while the rapper lucki still dropped music under the alias lucki eck$, his music had a more experimental approach, instrumental wise. with the release of his second studio album body high, lucki did an excellent job of producing a product that lived up to the title: producing an out of body experience, with melodies and wordplay that give of a euphoric feeling.

during this time period of his life, lucki was known for being involved with the distribution of experimental substances. he raps about the the feelings of a "body high" when using products he sells, as well as his ambitious desires to be rich and famous. on the second track of the album: witchcraft, he raps about getting close with a woman who eventually steals his "stash" and runs off, burdening him with decision of either letting it go, or seeking revenge in order to make a ruthless statement about the life he chose to involve himself with.

a perfect encapsulation of the album would be track 4: slow down, which uses a slow, almost ethereal instrumental, as lucki raps about being cautious with substance use, specifically the ones he provides, saying: "you ain't never took no ***** like these, so you should slow down for me." the track has started to find newfound fame on social media (specifically tiktok), pushing the track to lucki's top 10 most popular songs, despite releasing in 2014.

eck$ spent a lot of time experimenting with and finding his unique sound. as he evolved into the artist he is today, his old projects showcase the importance of being creative, and letting music tell a story of one's life.
