AOTW: Freewave 3

I want vvs’s more than ever.

Frewave 3, released on february of 2019, placed lucki as one of, if not the very leading figure of underground music in that respective rap scene. his unique style garnered a number of die-hard fans (one even on the visuals team) that continues to grow to this day.

the album followed a series of releases, including his "days b4" series, a collection of albums and eps dropped before a freewave project. the finale to the freewave trilogy was seen as lucki finally solidifying his sound, which was a unique blend of lofi trap production and lyrical, yet lazy sounding rhymes with a monotone delivery, as he raps about his personal battles with substances, and relationships that have caused him significant heartbreak. a few songs that carry this vibe are more than ever, peach dream, and glory boy.

freewave 3 is known for its blatant tone of melancholy and comforting yet, sometimes, unsettling honesty, that only clicks to listeners when they look past the serenading instrumentals and listen to lucki's wordplay. it is widely celebrated for being a powerful look into lucki's life, conveyed in a sound that connects deeply to his fanbase.
